Welcome back! I had coffee the other day with a good friend, Jimmy Roney, an ultimate coach in BC and a previous World Champion in the sport. We discussed many topics, but one that came up was the Speed Reserve and MAS training. This sparked me to talk briefly on MAS training and tempo running. What is the difference between the two and why I believe tempo running makes more sense when conditioning field sport athletes.
