The Same Technology Used in Professional Sport
Speed Mechanics operates a sports science lab powered by VALD—the performance testing technology used across the NHL, NFL, NBA, and Olympic sport.
We test individual athletes, teams, and return-to-play clients, turning objective data into actionable decisions for training, rehabilitation, and performance.
Individual assessments take 60–90 minutes and include an intake, comprehensive testing, and a written report detailing results, comparisons, key findings, and recommendations for training, return to play, or retesting.
Team testing is scaled to your group and includes a dedicated review with coaching staff to identify individual results, group trends, and how the data can inform future programming.
Preseason and postseason testing for teams and individual athletes. We measure speed, power, strength, sport-specific qualities, range of motion, and conditioning to establish baselines, track development, and identify the physical gaps your training needs to address.
Objective testing for athletes returning from injury. We assess limb symmetry, force production, reactive strength, and sport-specific qualities to support return-to-play decisions and guide the next phase of preparation. Results can be shared directly with your healthcare team and testing can be completed independently or alongside Continuum Health Centre.
Objective testing at key rehabilitation milestones to measure progress and guide load, progression,
and return to training. Clear reports and recommendations are provided to both the athlete and their clinical team.
Customized testing for your sport and team. Each athlete receives an individual performance report, while coaches receive group results, key trends, and training recommendations through a dedicated team review.
