Athletes in the Momentum Collegiate Program will have the opportunity to train with Victoria’s top Strength & Conditioning team. At Speed Mechanics, coaches and practitioners form an IST (Integrated Support Team) with experience across all team sports at the collegiate and national levels.

Momentum athletes can choose from one of three options – where 3-day, 4-day, and 5-day program options are available. Additionally, a two-hour timeslot is available in both the am and pm, where athletes have an opportunity to tailor their training schedule and optimize sport/life balance.

Athletes from any sport – going into college or currently attending college – will get an individualized training plan.

Low momentum

Why Speed Mechanics?

Our emphasis is on education and building strong foundations while working at the right pace for each athlete’s ability. We believe that to learn best it’s not simply about showing up, but also becoming a part of the process. We promote a positive and engaging learning environment, and require athletes to teach and guide younger/newer athletes in order to level-up—in addition to demonstrating improved competency and performance.

Our coaches have performed and coached at the highest levels and have worked with Olympic, international, and national level athletes. As a result, we can develop the speed and strength required to compete at the highest levels, without compromising on long-term health or goals.

  • Sport-specific and individualized training programs based on physical assessment and performance testing.

  • Speed, strength, power, and energy system development focused on your position and sport.
  • 2-hour coached training sessions during scheduled Momentum times (with full access to the facility during open hours if you are unable to attend) 
  • Testing: sprinting, agility, force plate (jumping/landing mechanics, vertical jumping, force-velocity profiling), 30-15 intermittent fitness testing (as required), and sport-specific testing

  • State-of-the-art equipment on-site – force plates, force plate treadmill (for complete sprinting biomechanical analysis), timing gates, PUSH bands, GymAware, and speed radar

  • Elite coaching and training culture with high-performance collegiate athletes.

  • Active rehabilitation of previous injuries, working towards being fully prepared for the start of your season.

  • Goal setting for performance and nutrition (assessment derived from baseline performance and nutritional assessments to personalize performance training/nutrition plans).
