At Speed Mechanics, we believe in fostering long-term athlete development through collaboration and innovation. For the past two years, we’ve been proud to partner with Westcastle International Academy, a leading soccer program in Victoria, under the guidance of their President and Technical Director, Eddie Mukahanana, and Executive Director, Alexia Eiley. Together, we’ve worked to elevate the development of soccer athletes across multiple age groups, focusing on speed, agility, and overall athletic growth.
Tailored Training for Every Stage
Our collaboration spans on-field and indoor sessions, including work at UVic, with an emphasis on meeting the unique needs of different age groups within the Westcastle program.
For the Skill Centre athletes (ages 10-12):
Training for this age group is all about fun and engagement. We gamify speed and agility drills, weaving essential on-field skills with activities designed to promote well-rounded athleticism. This approach not only builds physical attributes but also helps young athletes stay excited and motivated to train.
For the older athletes:
As athletes mature, their training needs become more specific. Our speed sessions are structured to refine their acceleration, change of direction, and on-field strength. By tailoring rest periods to match their increased output and physical capacity, we ensure their progress aligns with the demands of high-performance soccer.
