Gym Membership Holds Policy

At Speed Mechanics, we understand that life can sometimes get in the way of your training routine. To accommodate your needs, we offer a membership hold option. Please review the following holds policy:

Notice and Duration:

1. To request a membership hold, you must provide a minimum of 2 weeks (14 days) notice before the desired hold start date.
2. Members can hold their membership for a minimum of 2 weeks and a maximum of 90 days during each hold period.

Maximum Holds:

1. Members are allowed a maximum of 3 membership holds per calendar year.
2. The cumulative total of all hold periods within a single calendar year cannot exceed 180 days. This means that if you’ve already held your membership for a total of 180 days in a calendar year, you will not be eligible for any additional holds until the next calendar year.

Hold Requests:

To request a membership hold, please follow these steps:

1. Contact our gym staff in person and they will send you our Hold Request form or fill it out on our website at least 14 days before the desired hold start date.
2. Provide your full name, contact information, the start date of the hold, the end date of the hold (within the 14 to 90-day range), and a reason for the hold.
3. Our staff will confirm the hold request and provide you with written confirmation, including the start and end dates of your hold.

End of Hold Period:

At the end of your approved hold period, your membership will automatically reactivate, and your regular billing cycle will resume. There is no need to contact us to reactivate your membership.

Exceptions:

In case of medical conditions or other exceptional circumstances, we may consider extending or adjusting your hold period. Please contact our gym management for assistance with such requests.

Hold Charges:

During the hold period, you will not be billed for your regular membership dues. However, any additional services or fees, such as personal coaching sessions or treatment via Continuum Health Centre, will not be included in your hold and must be paid separately if utilized during the hold period.
